Redang Island

Redang Island , locally known as Pulau Redang is an island which lies about 45 km off the coast of Terengganu state in Malaysia. This is one of the gorgeous island and coral in the world, which makes Redang one of the most visited island in Malaysia.

Redang is one of nine islands, which form a marine park, and which offer snorkeling and diving opportunities.

One of the most beautiful beaches of Redang is Pasir Panjang. The beach is covered with soft white sand. Corals and fish can be seen just a few metres from the beach.

The island is also an important conservation site for sea turtles.

Redang has a tropical climate with temperatures steadily around 30°C. Like the rest of Malaysia's East Coast, Redang is affected by the northeast monsoon in winter, so most resorts are closed and ferry transport schedules are severely restricted between November and February.
